Step 1:
brainstorm a list of 20+ words/phrases to describe your chosen career. Use CareerCruising.com to include activities, skills and terms that describe the job. What qualities do you admire? Include things that make your career unique and special.
My example is Occupational Therapist

Step 2:
circle 7-8 qualities on the list that are unique. What are your favorites? Identify the main qualities that truly define the career. Choose the most descriptive, most important, most memorable.

Step 3:
Using the qualities you just highlighted in step 2, write 4-6 sentences. Be as descriptive as possible.
  • Here's my example :


    Providing support & encouragement, an occupational therapist helps strengthen people in the community in order to achieve and maintain their independence. It's a rewarding career which will allow me to help people and connect with them everyday. OT requires compassion and knowledge. Flexibility patience, and creativity are also must have skills.

Step 4:
Now, look through what you wrote for step 3 for words that begin with the letters in the career's name. Arrange the sentences to wrap around those letters and create and acrostic style writing. You many need to change the wording to make the sentences fit into the letters.
